the purpose is for everyone to understand to know about the symmetry, scale, positive and negative space, also the paper cutting can play with light, which can create different looks.
in this seminar I asked everyone to cut out a character "春" which means spring, and this is how I did when I was celebrating Lunar calendar's New Year (Today is 15 Jan.) . This seminar gave me a chance to enjoy working together and to bring me back to my childhood memory, which I think this is a good experience overall. Also, I can see people having creativity to design their own paper cutting that was a good respond to me.
Secondly, this year is the year of ox in lunar calendar, so I plan an additional practice for people to have another go and also free for peers to design their own one. in this practice, I find everyone is doing well because they were all grinning when they show me what they have done. and I think this seminar work well, because the feedback from them was positive, such as good time allocation, fresh experience but easy to get started, and in line with current events.
